Alexandra Price included in Melbourne Renegades squad; replaces injured Georgia Wareham

Wareham, who ruptured her ACL at the start of the season, will require to undergo surgery and has therefore been ruled out for the foreseeable future. She will miss the Ashes and World Cup early next year and also have to skip the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in July-August. The 22-year-old recently underwent a knee arthroscopy to remove the previously placed graft and is expected to have her next surgery, a reconstruction, early next year.

25-year-old Price previously represented Adelaide Strikers in the Women’s Big Bash League. She turned out for the club in 58 matches across six seasons taking 20 wickets along the way. She was part of the Strikers side that reached the final of WBBL05.

Sophie Molineux’s team are currently at the top of the table will 11 points to their credit. They will play Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars over the weekend, before facing the Stars in the middle of the week again. They will be keen to build on the form they have shown through the season and further strengthen their spot at the top of the table.

As per the " rel="noopener noreferrer">new format, the top team at the end of the league stage will proceed directly to the final, while the next three will be involved in a knockout stage.
