Indians in the Hundred 2023: Smriti Mandhana reigns supreme
The campaign of the four Indians in The Hundred was a mixed bag. On one hand, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues clashed in the final whereas Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh's playoff charge could never take off.
Two Indians, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues met in the final showdown of The Hundred 2023 where Mandhana's Southern Brave reigned supreme. On the other hand, Harmanpreet Kaur's Trent Rockets and Richa Ghosh's London Spirit never came in contention for the playoffs.
Mandhana started out with two consecutive half-centuries but her form fizzled out at the business end of the tournament. The other finalist, Rodrigues could only show glimpses of her batting prowess. In the final, where she looked in good touch, she was stuck at the non-striker's end before getting dismissed.
Neither could we see the usual hard-hitting Ghosh during the rain-marred campaign. Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur's campaign could never really take off.
Watch this episode of The Outside View to know how Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh's The Hundred 2023 campaign played out.
