full-time bowling coach of Australia earlier this month, which meant he would have to relinquish his role with Sixers as well as New South Wales. However, Cricket Australia and Cricket New South Wales agreed on the adjustment to let Sawyer continue at the post with Sixers due to short timeframe in the lead up to the tournament.
“I am very excited that Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW have been able to come to an agreement here so that I can continue to work with the Sixers this summer,” said Sawyer, who has been with Sixers from the inception of the competition.
“The decision allows me to continue my development as a coach and also work with the exciting talent in the squad we have assembled for the Sixers.”
Sawyer is currently coaching Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred, post which he will link with the national side for the multi-format series against India. After that he will join Sixers for WBBL07.
