Velocity squad for the Women's T20 Challenge to be played in the UAE between November 4 to 9.
Women's CricZone has learnt that Joshi tested positive for COVID-19 on October 10 and is currently undergoing home quarantine in Dehradun. She did not join the rest of the Indian contingent in Mumbai.
Singh, who represented India A against Bangladesh A back in 2017, was most recently part of the India A squad in the
Women's Senior T20 Challenger trophy in Cuttack earlier this year, after which she also took part in the
quadrangular tournament involving Thailand and Bangladesh.
In the 2019-20 domestic T20 tournament, the right-arm seamer was Uttar Pradesh's most successful bowler, picking up 13 wickets in nine matches, at an incredible average of 9.38. Her best of 4 for 9 came against Karnataka in the Super Leagues. She backed up those promising performances with eight wickets in the one-day tournament in February-March, bowling consistently with the new ball and at the death.

For Joshi, this is a latest setback in what has been a series of unfortunate events. Having made her international debut in 2016, she suffered a terrible knee injury the following year, that kept her out of action for close to a year. She
returned to the side in 2018, but has been unable to cement her spot in the Indian team so far.
Earlier this year, she was left out of
India's squad for the T20 World Cup despite enjoying a
successful tour of Australia with India A in December.
