Career-best gains for Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner in ICC Rankings
Alyssa Healy moved up a spot to third in the batters’ charts while Megan gained a spot to be placed second in the bowlers’ charts in the latest ICC Rankings announced on Tuesday (April 6).
Healy smashed 65 off 69 balls in the first ODI of the Rose Bowl Trophy against New Zealand, moving up to 753 points. Ellyse Perry, who finished with an unbeaten half century in the same game, got to 701 points and continued to be placed ninth in the list of batters. Ashleigh Gardner scored a quickfire 53 not out off just 41 balls to break through into the top 30 for the first time in her career. She is placed on the 30th spot.
Megan Schutt, who picked her fourth ODI four-wicket haul in the first ODI, pipped Marizanne Kapp to the second spot in the ICC Rankings for ODI bowlers. She has 762 points as opposed to Kapp’s 747. The list continues to be led by Jess Jonassen. Nicola Carey, who returned three for 34 on Sunday, moved up to her career-best 37th spot.
For New Zealand’s Lauren Down, her knock of 90, which was her maiden half century in international cricket, saw her gain 55 spots to be placed on 62.
