Amanda Carr signed for Middlesex for the 2020 season, and will play in both the formats, the club announced on Saturday (February 7). Carr thus makes a move from Devon, her home county, where she has been for last 12 years since making her debut as a 14-year-old.

The Plymouth-born Carr, whilst playing one-dayers for Devon, joined Middlesex to play in the T20 competition in 2017 and has made 21 T20 appearances for them since then playing a key role in Middlesex's T20 County title triumph in 2018.

The addition of Carr to Middlesex’s 50-over ranks is a huge boost for the side, more so after she smashed an unbeaten 105 against her new team playing for Devon at Eastcote. Carr will train with Middlesex over the remaining winter months ahead of the start of the domestic season.

Speaking about her new team, Carr said, “I’m very excited to be able to commit to Middlesex across all formats for the 2020 season. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Middlesex’s T20 squad over the past few seasons and making this move seemed like the natural progression in what hopes to be an exciting year.”

“I am very grateful to Middlesex for the support and opportunities they have continued to offer me and I look forward to working with them more closely in the future,” she added.

“Amara has been a key factor in our success as a T20 side, both with the bat and behind the stumps. Her simple, but no-nonsense approach to the game really suits our squad and I cannot wait to see her get even more success in all formats this season,” said Danni Warren, Head of Middlesex Women’s Cricket.
