The 2019-20 annual report was presented at the AGM and the CDCA reported a surplus of $7000 despite the challenges they faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was made possible due to the cost-cutting measures they implemented due to the impact of COVID-19, the statement from CDCA said.
Devonshire lauded the effort of everyone-including the CEO Pete de Wet and other staff- and thanked them for their efforts during the 2019-20 period. He also thanked the district associations for their commitment to the game.
“Our CEO, management and staff have been absolutely steadfast through one of the most difficult periods in our sporting history. Furthermore, they have manged to deliver a good positive financial result when almost everyone was prophesising doom. Well done,” Devonshire said in the annual report.
“On behalf of the CD Board I want to thank our 8 Districts for their engagement and positive commitment to delivering the game, and in particular their support of the CDCA staff.”

Despite the fact that the season was cut short, the CD Districts were the best performing around the country with 37% of all participants attending Hubs run by our eight District Associations,” De Wet wrote in the year review.
“A special thank you also goes to the supporters of this great game – to the parents, partners, family and friends, thanks for your ongoing support for the players across our region,” he concluded.
