was earlier reported that two Sri Lankans are among the overseas players set to feature in the third season of the competition. Women's CricZone can now confirm that the two Sri Lankan superstars will feature in the league.

“It’s a great feeling to be back,” Atapattu told Women’s CricZone.

“We have been training continuously in Sri Lanka adhering to the health guidelines. This will definitely boost the confidence levels.”

Siriwardene, who announced her retirement from international cricket earlier in the year, last played in Sri Lanka’s clash against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup 2020. While Atapattu played for Supernovas in 2019, Siriwardene will make her first appearance in the competition.

The Lankan skipper, though, was glad to have the experienced campaigner back in action.

“It’s always good to have Shashikala back,” Atapattu said. “She is a very experienced campaigner.”

The duo is set to reach UAE later this month and will be in quarantine for six days and have to clear three tests during that time. Having been training in Sri Lanka for the past few weeks, Atapattu expressed gratitude to Sri Lanka Cricket for facilitating the same.

“Sri Lanka Cricket provided me and all the other cricketers that environment throughout which is a great thing.”

“As usual my main aim is to prepare well and give my 100% to the team and help my team to win. I will continue to do so,” she concluded.

At this moment, though, the players’ allotment to the teams is unknown.
