New Update
victory against Sydney Thunder, Piparo, who previously batted in the middle to lower order for the Scorchers, said that she is simply trying to contribute to the success of the team to the best of her abilities.
"It was really nice to kind of go up to the number three position. Obviously, after losing Amy Jones early in the tournament, I am just trying to contribute as much as I can for the team," she told the reporters on Sunday (November 15).
Defending 131, Scorchers' bowlers ensured a 34-run victory by dismissing Thunder for 97. Applauding the efforts of the bowlers, Piparo said, "Taneale Peschel and Nicole Bolton bowled well for us and defended what we thought might have been a below-par total."

After a poor start to the tournament, Scorchers have gained momentum and registered their fourth consecutive win in the sixth edition of Women's Big Bash League.
Piparo said that they are pleased with how they won from different positions in the last four matches. "I think what's really pleasing for us is the way we have been able to win the last four matches," she said, "The past four matches have been really different - setting big total and then kind of defending a modest total today; so, it's really nice to be winning games in different fashions."

On the back injury of Devine, Piparo said that although she had not spoken to her yet, she is hoping that the skipper would be able to play later this week with the help of "recovery and physio".
The 26-year-old said that although Devine is a vital cog in the Scorchers batting line-up, she is confident that the rest of the players would rise to the occasion if Devine had a bad day at the office.
"It's nice when she can score some runs. In saying that, we have got a really deep batting order. So, if Soph doesn't perform on the day, we kind of back the other batters in the line-up to do their job as well," she said.

While talking about their life in the bio-bubble, Piparo stressed the importance of following the tight rules that are in place for the successful completion of the tournament.
"We know that the restrictions kind of need to be tight to make sure that competition can keep going. If anything kind of gets in the way of that then the competition might fall apart. We know what we've got to do, and we know there are only two weeks to go," she concluded.
