The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) organised a webinar on the laws of cricket for the senior and Under-23 women's teams on Tuesday (September 1).

Shib Sankar Pal, head coach of Bengal senior women and Under-23 sides, oversaw the session along with assistant coaches Charanjit Singh and Rituparna Roy.

Paul thanked the CAB for organising the webinar and said the session was beneficial for the girls and would help in improving their knowledge about the laws of cricket.

“I thank CAB president Avishek Dalmiya for organising such session for girls,” Paul was quoted as to IANS. “While outdoor practices are halted, the girls can learn so much about the laws and improve.”

“It was a very good session for the girls as the laws were discussed in detail, their doubts and questions were answered. Types of outs, fielding restrictions, restrictions about time taken on and off the field were discussed.”

The session was conducted by senior umpire Premdip Chaterjee who has officiated at First-Class level. Most recently, he was involved in the women's senior one-day tournament held in February-March.

“It was a fantastic interactive session. Girls were so keen to know and clear their doubts. As the laws of the game get updated with time so the players must be aware of the laws,” Chaterjee said.

CAB has been organising webinars on various topics like sports psychology, power yoga and wicket-keeping for the benefit of women cricketers from the state during the lockdown and restrictions that are in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
