Dragons won the Toyota Super 3s series for the second time in three years at Clontarf Cricket Club today. The match got delayed due to rain and reduced the game to a 40-over to both the side. Dragons won the toss and chose to field first.

Batting first, Scorchers lost their opener Stokell very early. Isobel Joyce and Kim Garth then started building a steady partnership. Joyce scored 52 off 49 and Garth scored 45 off 51 and helped Scorchers to put up a total of 175 in 37 overs.

Hannah Little (3-26) and Rachel Delaney (3-35) took three wickets each, while 17-year old Lara Maritz claimed two wickets for the Dragons. She had a brilliant season leading the bowling attack.

Unfortunately, the second innings didn't happen due to rain and the match was eventually abandoned.
