Former India captain and current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly has offered the iconic Eden Gardens' indoor facility and the players dormitory to West Bengal government for creating quarantine facilities.

“If government asks us, we will certainly hand over the facility. Anything that is need of the hour, we will do it. There is absolutely no problem,” Ganguly told PTI.

The BCCI has not yet offered to help with donations or funds, but Ganguly was optimistic and promised to have a word with Jay Shah BCCI secretary regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier BCCI had already postponed all the domestic matches and Indian Premier League due to coronavirus.

Ganguly welcomed Prime Minister's decision of complete lockdown to combat the disease from spreading and is hopeful of the situation coming to control in the coming few weeks.

“I think this is the best option at the current moment. Certain things are beyond anybody’s control,” the 47-year-old said. “Whatever directives that the government and ministry of health gives us, we have to follow. That’s the case all over the world.”
