New Update

Shafali Verma made her debut at the age of 15 and was one of the rising stars of T20 World Cup 2020 as India finished with a runners-up medal at the age of 16. She scored runs against West Indies, Australia and England in the build-up to the tournament.

In the T20 World Cup 2020, Shafali gave India a fast start against Australia to help India register a famous win. She continued her form against Bangladesh and New Zealand as well. Although India went down against eventual champions Australia infront of 86,174 crowd at the MCG, the dashing batter never looked back since in the shortest format.

Shafali has formed a great opening partnership with Smriti Mandhana at the top of the order for India and this duo will be the key for India as they look for their maiden title. Shafali has a stellar record in the format now and is a really experienced campaigner in the team lead by Harmanpreet Kaur. India came close multiple-times in the T20 World Cup after that final in 2020.

Now four years later, can she repeat those heroics come T20 WorldCup 2024?
