A 88-run partnership for the third wicket between Ash Gardner and Erin Burns with the former hitting an unbeaten half century see Sixers home against Hurricanes with two balls to spare.

Sixers won the toss and chose to field first. Fazackerley after hitting a four to Kapp got cleaned up by her almost immediately. Smriti Mandhana started with her classy cover drive hitting three fours before Healy took an excellent catch off Kapp to dismiss the Indian opener for 16. Daffara who looked in good touch and had smashed five fours became Cheatle's only wicket of the day as Hurricanes were 54-3 in 7 overs.

Heather Knight has been in supreme form in Australia and continued the same. The England captain smashed an unbeaten 43 before rain interrupted the game as Hurricanes reached 112-4 in 14 overs. After a 45 minutes delay, the match got reduced to 15 overs a side. Heather Knight and Sasha Moloney scored 21 runs of the only over Hurricanes faced after the rain break and put 133-5 on the board with Knight scoring an unbeaten 51.

The Sydney Sixers were set a target of 152 after DLS was taken into consideration. Sixers lost their openers Healy and Perry early as the both of them added 18. Erin Burns joined Ash Gardner to the crease with Gardner smashing the bowlers all round the park. After a 20-ball-43 with 5 fours and 2 sixes, Burns lost her wicket to Hepburn - a point when Sixers had victory in their bags. Gardner hit an unbeaten 79 in 50 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes grabbing the player of the match award.

Both teams face each other again at the same ground tomorrow.
