Indian team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana are all set to receive Indian women's maiden awards for "Best International Cricketer (Women)" for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons respectively. BCCI Awards (Naman) are scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on June 12, the Indian national board announced on Thursday. This year the board will be presenting awards for the past two seasons and it is going to be a big occasion.

Every year "BCCI awards" rewards India's top domestic and international cricketers across all age groups. The top honours that two in-form cricketers Mandhana and Kaur are receiving is an inaugural award. This award is added to acknowledge the on-field efforts that women cricketers put down. The recipients will be awarded a 15 Lakhs cheque and a citation trophy.

Kaur's name is at the top for her incredible batting throughout the year 2016-17. Striking statistics of ODI - 23 Matches, 531 runs @ 40.85 and T20 - 7 Matches, 231 runs @ 57.75 signifies why she deserves it. Especially her heroics in World Cup Qualifiers' Final and 171* against Australia in World Cup 2017 is the icing on the cake. Harmanpreet Kaur was also the Arjuna award recipient in 2017.

The young batting sensation Mandhana has swept the top honour being the International Women Cricketer of 2017-18. She is on the list for her consistent batting performances. Jaw dropping stats in ODIs -  9 matches, 531 runs @ 66.38 and in T20Is - 9 matches, 343 runs @ 49.00 prove the fact. A remarkable start to the year with the tour of South Africa and later continuing her form in the ODI series against Australia and World Champions England at home also featuring a T20 tri-series, Mandhana has certainly come a long way. BCCI  has also nominated her for prestigious Arjuna award.
