New Update
The renegades top order struggled to get the Sixers opening bowlers of Marizanne Kapp and Ellyse Perry. Kapp offered little width for Danni Wyatt and Erica Kershaw. Perry, in contrast, bowled four wides in her first two overs. When Perry did get it on the stumps Jess Duffin missed as was bowled for 2.
The Renegades cause was not helped by Danni Wyatt only facing nine balls inside the powerplay. Wyatt was then run out after being sent back by Amy Satterthwaite as Wyatt hit straight at the fielder in the covers.
The Renegades were 3 for 34 inside the seventh over. Satterthwaite was in good touch finding the boundary rope four times in her innings of 21 from 21 balls.
Lauren Cheatle was the pick of the Sixers bowlers as the left-armer with 2 for 6. Satterthwaite looked to attack Cheatle and skied an effort to mid-on from and Hayley Silver-Holmes took the catch.
Maitlan Brown and Molly Strano were responsible for recovery of sorts for the Renegades as the pair added 36 for the eighth wicket. They were both busy at the crease and Brown hit the only six of the innings taking advantage of a free hit off Lauren Smith.
Smith would get her revenge as she took a one-handed catch at gully that looked to have gone over the fielder only for the ball to stick in her outstretched hand.
8 for 110 was well below a defendable total especially considering the attacking talent in the Sixers top order. Unusually for the Sixers Perry was to fall for just 8 from 15.
Healy who had had a great World t20 had struggled in WBBL|04 to re-discover that form of late; She put that behind her here as she scored an unbeaten 70 from 42 balls. At the other end, Ash Gardner was also rediscovering her touch.
Molly Strano was to account for the wicket of Gardner and finished with figures of 3 for 26. Erin Burns was bowled but the game was all but over as the Sixers needed fewer than ten runs to win.
The Sixers were looking to get back to winning ways and they strolled to victory with 35 balls to spare.
