Speaking about the signing, Barsby said that she is excited to join the Strikers. "I can’t wait to get started. We have a great group of ladies that create an allround, consistent group. I am excited to see how we go against the star-studded sides in the WBBL.”
Barsby played for Perth Scorchers last year but would be playing for the South Australian club for WBBL07. She started her WBBL career with Brisbane Heat and was a part of the title winnings squad in WBBL04.

Luke Williams, the Strikers head coach, said that they are delighted to sign Barsby for WBBL07. “Jemma has impressed everyone in Adelaide since crossing to join the Scorpions last season," he said.
"She gives us plenty of options with both bat and ball and in doing so adds experience, strength and depth to our squad.”
