19-year old Josie Dooley played an important part in securing the WBBL 04 title for Brisbane Heat. Wicket-keeper batter Dooley played in 9 matches for Heat and scored 137 runs in 8 innings including 30 ball 44* against Hurricanes and 33 ball 48* against Strikers.

Australia international Beth Mooney keeping wickets for Heat means for Dooley would play in the side only as a batter. Dooley is a member of Cricket Australia’s National Performance Squad and was named in the Australian under-19 squad to tour New Zealand earlier this year.

To press her claim as a regular wicket keeper, Dooley opted to switch from Brisbane Heat to Melbourne Renegades. She said, "The Renegades are coming off a great season and with so many exciting young players, I’m looking forward to being part of the club’s rise. I enjoyed my time with the Heat and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities and mentoring I was given.

She further added, “It was a tough decision to leave but ultimately the opportunity to establish myself as a wicket-keeper/batter in the Renegades line-up was too good to pass up.”
