Harkness was promoted to Senior Manager after three years as Strikers’ Operation Manager, a role she was given in 2016. She has overseen the management of the Strikers’ BBL side, that won its maiden title in BBL07. She also played a part in the operations, helping Karen Rolton Oval stage its first-ever WBBL match.
“It’s been an honour representing the Strikers in such an exciting competition and I can’t wait to contribute further to the sustained success of the Big Bash Leagues,” said Harkness, who is also actively involved in the association’s commitment to the progress and equality of the women’s game.

Harkness will be juggling her roles as a General Manager with that of her media management responsibilities for the first half of WBBL06. She was also employed in commercial and media roles with the Brisbane Lions and Richmont Football Clubs in the AFL.
