S Meghana hit a century while Mamtha Kanojia and Jyoti Giri missed theirs on day two of the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy 2021.



Thanks to Meghana’s knock along with MD Thirushkamini and SR Mane’s half century, Railways won their Group B clash against Bengal in Rajkot. The trio’s innings helped the side to a tall 242 for four, which proved to be 67 too many for Bengal. PP Paul was the only noteworthy scorer for Bengal with 52, while Sneh Rana returned four for 39 for Railways.



Kanojia’s 92 meant that Hyderabad posted six for 229 in their quota against Gujarat in their Group A clash in Surat. She had company in Anuradha Nayak’s 70. Gujarat, in reply, were kept to nine for 144, with Yashasri picking three for 42. Giri, who was bowled on 97, helped Uttarakhand chase down Assam’s 212-run target in thir Group B clash. She had company in AN Tomar’s 69. Monikha Das’ allround efforts – she scored 64 before returning three for 38, including Giri’s wicket, went in vain.



Meanwhile, in Group C in Jaipur, Anuja Patil scored 73 and picked up two wickets in Maharashtra’s win over Rajasthan while Shikha Pandey and Sanjula Naik returned three wickets each in Goa’s win over Chandigarh.
