The last time the hosts were involved in a competitive tournament was back in September, when they featured in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers (Africa region) in Botswana in September 2021. They had lost the final to Zimbabwe by 13 runs and since then they haven't participated in any tournament.

Uganda, commonly known as Victoria Pearls, haven't played much cricket since their participation in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers either and hence will be raring to go.

Uganda have decided to give their experienced players in Barbara Mukankusi and Rita Nyagendo another go as they make a return to the national team after they were dropped earlier. Youngsters Patricia Timong, Jimia Mohammed and Jaqueline Nakayovu have been included for the first time in the squad.

The Tri-Series will be a big test for the Victoria Pearls as they did not have a good outing at the qualifiers in Botswana and lost to both Namibia and Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe are the highest ranked side among the three as they are occupying the 11th spot, Uganda are ranked 19th, and Namibia are 21st in the world. Since the tournament is going to have T20I status, there are plenty of rating points to play for during the series.

The series will be streamed live on Women's CricZone.
