The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and BCCI revealed the schedule of the white-ball series against India in the summer of 2025. The visitors will face England in five T20Is starting on June 28 in Nottingham, which will be followed by three ODIs beginning on July 16. ECB also announced that the Lord's Cricket Ground would make a women's Test debut in 2026 with both sides playing at the iconic stadium.
"It has also been confirmed that India Women will return in 2026 for a one-off Test match at Lord’s – the first-ever Women’s Test to be staged at the Home of Cricket. England Women have played white-ball matches at Lord’s for the past three years, with another scheduled next year, but it will be the first time the ground has hosted a Women’s Test match," the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) stated in its press release.
India and England's last Test outing was back in December 2023 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, which Harmanpreet Kaur's side won by a record margin of 347 runs. Meanwhile, their last white-ball series on English soil in September 2022 resulted in India's favour in the 50-over format, while Heather Knight's side dominated the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side in the three-match T20I series.
The Lord's Cricket Ground has hosted women's matches preiously, but they have all been in the white-ball format. ECB Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould said, “I’m also delighted we can confirm that India Women will return in 2026 to take on England Women in the first-ever women’s Test match at Lord’s. It will be a truly special occasion, and one of real significance." The date for the Test match is yet to be announced.
