New Update
who was ruled out due to injury, has been included in the squad.
Nicole Bolton, who last played in T20Is in 2016, makes her return to the shortest format after impressive performances in the Big Bash and the Super League. She amassed 482 runs in 16 matches for Perth Scorchers in the Women's Big Bash League 2017-18 and finished as the third highest run-getter. She also scored 274 runs in 10 matches for Lancashire Thunder in the Super League.
While talking about her selection, National Selector Shawn Flegler said, "There's only two players that come into the ODI and T20 sides that didn’t take part in the recent series against New Zealand, which is really pleasing as it means we have a stable playing group who are gelling really well.”
"Nicole’s generally been considered a 50-over player but she’s put in a lot of work to improve her short-form game and its evident in her recent T20 form."
Georgia Wareham, who recently played all the three games against New Zealand, has retained her place in the squad. Uncapped Tayla Vlaeminck too found her place in the squad; while the team is hopeful about Jonassen.
"Jess is recovering well from her knee injury and will join the squad in Malaysia, with the aim to have her playing in the two warm-up matches in the West Indies." Shawn Flegler said.
He further added, "This is an exciting group of players who’ve played some very good cricket in the T20 format in particular, over the last six months, and with injection of some youth we believe this group has the right attributes to have a successful World Cup."
Australia will begin their campaign Pakistan in the World T20 on November 9 at Providence Stadium, Guyana.
