one-off Test in Bristol, England and India are set to battle it out in three ODIs of India’s multi-format tour of England starting with the first ODI in Bristol on Sunday (June 27). This will be the first time both sides will be playing each other after the historic final of the Cricket World Cup at Lord’s in 2017. There are a number of  records – both individual and team – that are up for grabs and we might see a few of them getting broken during the course of the three-match series.

Ahead of the series opener, Women's CricZone lists some interesting numbers from their previous encounters in the format over the years.

1 – Anjum Chopra is the only Indian to score an ODI hundred against England in England. She scored an exact 100 during the 2nd ODI in Southampton in 1999. There have been six other ODI centuries by Indians in England – including the famous 171 not out by Harmanpreet Kaur against Australia in the World Cup 2017 – but none of them came against England. English players, on the other hand, scored four hundreds against India in England.

2 – The number of five-wicket hauls Katherine Brunt has taken against India in ODIs, both came in India. She took 5 for 22 in Bangalore in 2010 and 5 for 28 in Mumbai during England’s last tour in 2019. There have been four other five-wicket hauls in India and England ODIs.

3 – India’s Karuna Jain and Jaya Sharma shared three century partnerships between them from seven ODIs against England at a whopping average of 88.50.

5/14 – Bowling figures of Nooshin Al Khadeer during the 2nd ODI between India and England in Lincoln, 2003. This is still the best bowling performance by an Indian against England in ODIs.

6/46 – Anya Shrubsole’s six-wicket haul against India in the World Cup final in 2017 is the best bowling performance by anyone in ODIs between these two countries. It’s also the only instance of a five-wicket haul in a World Cup final.

7 – The number of ducks registered by former England skipper Charlotte Edwards in ODIs against India in 39 innings. This is the most by anyone from either side with Jhulan Goswami and Lucy Pearson getting out for a duck six times each.

The second instance was when they romped home while chasing 103 in Taunton in 2008. India also registered a ten-wicket win against England when they defeated the visitors in 2005 Silchar ODI with the help of Goswami’s five-wicket haul.
