New Update
first win in the sixth edition of Women's Big Bash League against the Hobart Hurricanes at the Drummoyne Oval in Sydney on Sunday (November 1).
Stars took the field for the first time this season after their previous matches were called off due to rain. On Sunday too, the first match between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers was abandoned, and the Stars and Hurricanes played only after the showers reduced.
"First, we thought it would be a washout with the game before and the constant drizzle. The gods were on our side, and we finally got a game in," Brunt told reporters after the match.

The English seamer said the side constructed their bowling plans around the observations they had made through the game between Strikers and Scorchers. She added their the bowlers' ability to adapt to the tricky conditions and execute their plans well allowed them to come out on top.
"Tricky conditions, I think, today for the bowlers especially. We just watched the game before and adapted to that. Everybody bowled well and contributed," she said.
Brunt finished her four overs with three wickets giving away just 17 runs. Her tally included the likes of Hurricanes' New Zealand import Rachel Priest - bowled for a first-ball duck - skipper Corinne Hall and Brooke Hepburn. The 35-year-old, was well supported by the seam-bowling pair of Natalie Sciver and Tess Flintoff who finished with combined figures of 5 for 26 in six overs. Their efforts helped Stars restrict Hurricanes to a below-par total of 89 for 9 in 19 overs.

Brunt, who was the Player of the Match, lauded the efforts of the bowlers. "Nat picked up three, I think. Tess got a couple, and Ozzie (Erin Osborne) bowled really well. She was really unlucky to not get a wicket. Debutant Sophie Day, she bowled really well too. It was a great all-round effort."
The seamer said the side was happy to get a win on the board and the players were keen to get a a bit of rest after back-to-back games, before their fifth match on Tuesday (November 3).
