Pakistan Women won the toss and chose to bat first, it was their last opportunity to stop New Zealand winning the T20 series 4-0. Both the openers Nahida Khan and Sidra Ameen got Pakistan up to 21 runs and it wasn’t until the fourth over that Nahida Khan 10(16) got out, as
Leah Tahuhu had her caught by Hannah Rowe. Pakistan lost the second wicket when Sidra Ameen 17(24) fell for 39 in the eighth over as
Rowe was again in the action, this time as the bowler.
From there only
Javeria Khan reached double figures as wickets fell like leaves in autumn, despite losing eight wickets Pakistan were only able to reach a
total of 89 from their twenty overs. It was a target that the White Ferns were always going to reach, and it was only a matter of time. It was again Rowe who picked up three wickets and Holly Huddleston got two.
4.5 runs per over for
White Ferns was like a cupcake and they tucked into it with pleasure. An opening stand of
56 runs between Sophie Devine and Amy Satterthwaite made it too easy to chase.
Devine 41(17) played an attractive inning and smashed 7 fours and a six.
The other opener
Satterthwaite 35(31) played a calm and steady innings hitting 5 fours. New Zealand women chased down the target with 54 balls to spare and with 7 wickets in hand and only lost two of those when the finish line was in sight and helped Aimen Awar finish with two wickets.
