24-year-old Dixon is an accomplished indoor cricketer having previously represented Australia at the 2017 Indoor Cricket World Cup in Dubai. She moved from her native Townsville to Brisbane to focus on her game and made her debut for Queensland Fire in the Women's National Cricket League in 2018. More recently, she was part of the squad that won the 2020-21 WNCL title, beating Victoria in the final.
“I’m really excited to be a part of this group. I have watched the Strikers from the outset, and I think I play with very similar values so when given the opportunity to be a part of the group, I jumped at the chance."
A genuine swing bowler with the ability to move the ball both ways, Dixon said she was excited by the opportunity to learn from the likes of Megan Schutt, Tahlia McGrath and Sarah Coyte.
Jude Coleman, assistant coach of the Strikers, said she is confident of Dixon's ability to hit the ground running in WBBL07.
“Meagan is a great team player but she’s also ultra-competitive and will leave nothing out on the field. She is a big game player, and the type of player in a tough game who you want to have the ball in their hands."
Strikers will begin their campaign against defending champions Sydney Thunder on October 16.
