Sent into bat first, KiNi RR made a steady start with experienced Vanitha VR and Roshni Kiran at the top. The duo took their time initially before opening their arms dispatching the opposition bowlers into the boundaries.

Vanitha was more aggressive taking on the opposition bowlers while Kiran played a perfect second fiddle as the duo added 43 runs for the first wicket before the former was out off the bowling of Anuja Patil. Thereafter, KiNi lost two more quick wickets in Kiran and Punam Raut as they slumped from 43 for 1 in the eighth over to 65 for 3 in the 12th over.

Nuzhat Parween took couldn’t do much as she perished for a 16-ball 17. However, it was skipper Pratyusha’s unbeaten 25-ball 33 and Arundhati Reddy’s nine-ball  24 not out that propelled KiNi RR to a competitive total.

Patil was the most successful bowler for Ameya picking up 3/39 while Nikki Prasad and Mona Meshram took one wicket apiece. Chasing 141 for victory, Ameya started on a brilliant note with MD Thirushkamini going all out from the start. She even hit Arundhati Reddy for a four and a six in an over.

However, Radha pulled the brakes dismissing Prerana G in the sixth over caught by Shishira Gowda at the point. Following the dismissal, the run-rate dipped a little as both Thirushkamini and Prasad tried to negate the opposition attack.

Things turned tough for Ameya as they lost Thirushkamini, Prasad and skipper Veda Krishnamurthy in a quick span of time to be reeling at 85 for 4 in the 15th over. To make matters worse, Ameya lost Anuja Patil to Radha and Akansha Kohli, run out in successive overs. Ameya finally finished at 118 for 7 in 20 overs.

Skipper Divya Gnanananda, who has been in fine form in the series so far, perished early before Akshaya A and Minnu Manni took them past the 100-run mark.

Brief scores:

KiNi RR 140/5 in 20 overs (Vanitha VR 36, Prathyusha C 33*; Anuja Patil 3/39) beat Ameya 118/7 in 20 overs (MD Thirushkamini 37; Radha Yadav 3/9, Prathyusha C 2/26) by 22 runs.

Herons 102 all out in 19.2 overs (Akshaya A 25, Minnu Manni 20; E Padmaja 3/10) vs Sheen. Match abandoned.
