O'Donnell is currently playing for the Victoria women in the WNCL where she has taken four wickets in two matches so far and is eagerly waiting to join Hobart in the next week. "Joining the Hurricanes is a great opportunity to continue to learn and develop as a player," told O'Donnell.
"I'm very excited to be working under Sall and amongst a great group of girls as well as brushing shoulders with some high-class internationals in Heather Knight and Hayley Matthews," she further added. "With new coaching staff, hopefully, we can all adapt well and play our roles to generate as much success as possible."
"Tasmania is a beautiful place which I'd love to explore and what better way to do that than playing Big Bash."
Salliann Briggs is excited and welcomed Rhiann in the squad. "Rhiann brings some further depth to our squad and I'm looking forward to watching her play in Hobart before the season begins," Briggs further added. "She's begun the season well for Victoria in the WNCL and I'm sure she can transfer that form into Hurricanes purple."
The Hurricanes will start their WBBL campaign on December 1 against Perth Scorchers at Junction Oval, Melbourne.
