In the first match of the day – the seventh of the competition, Rewati Dhami was the top-scorer for Sudur Paschim. She made 27 in 36 balls and was involved in partnerships with Manju Bokati (10), Kabita Kanwar (seven) and Dolly Bhatta (two). She was the fourth wicket to fall, helping her side to 84 runs at the end of 14 overs.
After her dismissal, Sudur Paschim lost the last six wickets for just 23 runs to be bowled out for 107. Sristi Poudel’s three for 16 meant that none of the other batters, except for Sudur Paschim captain Bindu Rawal (13), entered double digits. Poudel aside, Alisha Lamichhane also picked up three for 16 for Gandaki Province.
Chasing 108, Gandaki Province’s innings never got off to the desired start, with the opening bowlers of Sudur Paschim both returning economical figures of one wicket for five runs in their four overs each. Sunita Luhar then picked up two for nine to dent Gandaki Province further in the middle overs, eventually restricting them to six for 48 in their 20 overs.
