Sarah Coyte extends tenure with Adelaide Strikers ahead of WBBL07
Adelaide Strikers has signed allrounder Sarah Coyte ahead of the seventh edition of the Women’s Big Bash League. It will be her fifth year with the Strikers after an impressive performance in 2020.
Speaking about the signing, Coyte said that she is thrilled to be playing for the Strikers again. “I am so pumped for the season,” she said.
“Striker time is my favourite time of year. We have such a great group. I have been looking forward to this all year and can’t wait to see our fans again in person and celebrate another awesome WBBL season.”
Coyte took 18 wickets in the previous season at 16.06, operating at an economy of 6.52. She also played a crucial role with the bat in the lower order, especially when the results weren’t going their way.
Assistant Coach Jude Coleman said that Coyte had been a proven performer for so long and a vital part of the team. “She is just someone that you want playing for your side. Sarah brings experience, skill and competitiveness that inspires those around her; we know that WBBL|07 will be another great tournament for her.”
With the availability of their star pacer Megan Schutt yet to be confirmed, Coyte will have to play a massive role along with Darcie Brown in the fast bowling department.
