India Green registered their first victory over India Blue in the BCCI U-19 T20 Challenger Trophy in Guntur on November 13.

India Green captain Ayushi Soni decided to bat first after winning the toss. They got a great start as both the openers, Amanjot Kaur and Shafali Verma added 29 runs within 2.4 overs. Verma's quickfire 21 off 12 came to an end after getting dismissed by SL Meena. Soon captain Ayushi Soni followed her as she fell for 3.

India Green middle order batters too failed to perform. They managed to add 27 runs odd 42 balls. Drishya IV played a blitzy knock of 28 off 17 and anchored the innings till the end; remained unbeaten and helped her team to put up 120 on board.

For India Blue, SL Meena picked up 2 wickets; while E Padmaja and Mouli Mandal bagged 1 wicket.

Chasing 121 is pretty easy for any team in this T20 era. India Blue didn't get the good start which they were required to. Shobha Devi too couldn't perform well. Captain E Padmaja along with Kajal Jena tried to resurrect the innings and both added 44 runs for the fifth wicket.

Another steady knock came for S B Keerthana; who scored a 22-ball 27 with 3 fours and a six. But their efforts were not enough to win this match as they fell short of 6 runs.

India Green bowlers' did a wonderful job by restricting India Blue with 114 runs; which eventually helped them to win by 6 runs. India Green will face India Red tomorrow for their next match.
