Batting first, Chhattisgarh posted 199 for the loss of six wickets in their 50 overs, thanks to Shivi’s ton and Yashi Pandey’s 53. In reply, senior-pro Madhusmita Behera (94) missed a well-deserved century by just six runs while Madhuri Meheta hit a valuable 59 to help Odisha romp home by four wickets with two balls to spare.
On the other hand, Rana’s hit an unbeaten 129 to single-handedly take Haryana home chasing Punjab’s 177. Parmila Kumari took four wickets for 41 runs for Haryana. Meanwhile, in a Group A encounter, Bengal were bundled for just 58 chasing Railways’ 172. Swagatika Rath scalped three wickets conceding just eight runs for Railways.
However, Sikkim stumbled to yet another defeat losing to Mizoram in a Plate Group encounter. Batting first Sikkim rode on Ananya Upendran’s 67 to post 170 for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs. In reply, S Prajakta hit an unbeaten 60 while Omomi scored 48 to take the team home in 42.4 overs losing just a wicket in the process.
