lost her life in a motor accident on Monday (June 15).
The 33-year-old leg-spinner represented Sri Lanka A in a Women’s A tri-series involving Australia A and England Academy at home in 2016. She was also part of the extended Sri Lanka squad during the home series against South Africa in 2014. She played provincial cricket for Cricket Colts Club and also worked as scorer and umpire in domestic cricket.

It is understood that the accident happened when a tractor collided with Liyanage's motorcycle on her way from Colombo to Anuradhapura.
The 33-year-old was a popular member of the domestic circuit, filling different roles through her career.

Sri Lanka men's Test skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and allrounder Angelo Mathews were also effusive in their praise.
