Chamari Athapaththu, who missed the Asia Cup due to dengue, has returned in the squad and will lead the team in the five-match T20I series as well. 17-year-old Kavisha Dilhari, who has played 2 ODIs till date after having made her debut against Pakistan earlier this year, has played an important role in Sri Lanka's victory over India in the 3rd ODI at Katunayake. She bagged Harmanpreet Kaur's wicket and scored an unbeaten 12 in Sri Lanka's highest successful run-chase of 254 in ODI.
Allrounder Ama Kanchana has returned to the squad after missing the Asia Cup. Along with her, 24-year-old Imalka Mendis also has been selected in the squad. 32-year old allrounder Sripali Weerakkody, who last played a T20I match in October 2017, found a place in the squad.
34-year-old Eshani Lokusuriyage and 35-year-old Dilani Manodara, who last played in the T20I in 2016 and 2017 respectively, have been called up while Oshadi Ranasinghe, Nipuni Hansika, Malsha Shehani, Achini Kulasooriya, Harshitha Madavi, Inoshi Fernando, and Inoka Ranaweera couldn't make it to the squad.
The five-match T20I series will start from September 19 at Katunayake.
