begins mid-October and turns 17 on August 18.
Sixers skipper Ellyse Perry was excited with the signing and heaped praise on the teenager. “It’s lovely to have Hayley re-sign at the Sixers,” Perry said. “She’s an incredibly talented cricketer who possesses a level of maturity and understanding about her bowling that is beyond her years.
“It’s also a wonderful opportunity for our club and Cricket NSW to play a continued role in Hayley’s development. She has the potential to be a world-class T20 bowler.” Silver-Homes, who also represents the Australia Under-19 side, has played 28 matches in her two years at WBBL claiming nine wickets with her accurate medium pace.

She was also a member of the playing XIs in Sixers’ WBBL04 final and the famous semi-final against the Melbourne Renegades that ended in a Super Over. “It’s exciting times for the Sixers family and to be part of that is amazing,” said the teenager. “It’s funny, there was a Sixers Sister (event) and my player was Ellyse Perry and I looked up to her since I first started.

“There was a photo of the two of us and it’s just funny that I’m playing with her and she’s captaining our team. It’s exciting,” said Silver-Holmes about her idol Perry. “As a young player, playing with your idol is awesome.”
Silver-Holmes, who has also captained the Australia Under-15 team, became the second-youngest NSW player to make her Women’s National Cricket League debut in 2019-20, playing her first match alongside fellow teen sensation Phoebe Litchfield.
She finished last season as the equal fifth leading wicket-taker in the WNCL. The 16-year-old returned 12 wickets at an average of 20 including 3-18 from eight overs against Queensland, which earned her Player of the Match. She was part of the Breakers XI that took the field for the WNCL Final in February won by Western Australia at North Sydney Oval.
