The Hundred Overseas Wildcard Draft has become bigger than its inaugural edition as more international stars are set to compete in the tournament this year.

The big signings include Australia’s Elyse Villani and Nicola Carey and Lea Tahuhu, Jess Kerr and Suzie Bates from the White Ferns.
While Villani will be seen un action for the Welsh Fire, Nicola Carey will be representing Trent Rockets. On the other hand, Tahuhu, Jess and Bates will be playing for Machester Originals, London Spirit and Oval Invincibles respectively.
India’s Deepti Sharma, who represented London Spirit in the last edition will be seen in action for the Birmingham Phoenix this year.
Carey expressed her jubilation on joining Welsh Fire and playing in the competition. She also mentioned that the team looks formidable due to the presence of some internationally established players.
“I’m really excited to be heading to Welsh Fire. We’ve already got a strong Aussie contingent with Rachael Haynes and Annabel Sutherland and combine that with Tammy Beaumount as skipper and we’ve got the makings of a really strong squad. I’ve never played at Cardiff before and I’m looking forward to seeing the Welsh Fire fans making lots of noise at Sophia Gardens.”
The Managing Director of The Hundred, Sanjay Patel, mentioned that the addition of more international superstars will surely take the standard of the event to a totally different level.
“It is brilliant news to welcome 16 more international stars to The Hundred. Players from seven countries have been selected and it’s great to welcome the likes of Mohammad Hasnain, Deepti Sharma and Suzie Bates to The Hundred this year. This continues to take the quality of cricket to another level and we can’t wait for a second summer of incredible sporting action.”
