Having opted to bowl first, Stars had an economical start. Thunder’s opening duo could manage only six runs off the first 18 balls. Thereafter, the in-form Litchfield (19) broke the shackles, striking three boundaries in the fourth over. Her bright start though could not be sustained as she soon lost her wicket to Annabel Sutherland.
Post Litchfield's dismissal, it was Amy Jones, who took up the mantle and forged a partnership with skipper Rachael Haynes to keep Thunder going. At halfway mark, the pair was well-set to press the accelerator with the score reading 64 for one.

The England wicket-keeper bat made 38 off 35 balls. As a result, Anika Learoyd made her way to the crease. As Thunder began re-building their innings, the rain set in. The incessant downpour caused the umpires to stop the game first and then after a big delay, match was eventually called off leading to yet another no result.
Stars are currently number six in the points table from six matches, while Thunder also have four points from seven matches and is currently languishing at number seven.
On Wednesday, Thunder will face their city-rivals Sixers in the Sydney derby whereas Stars would be up against last season’s runners up Adelaide Strikers.
