The appointment will be made in focus with the ICC Africa Region World Qualifier 2021 in Botswana. All the candidates need to have a Level 2 coaching qualification and must have a minimum work experience of four years as a head coach/working with elite teams. Applicants with international coaching experience will be preferred.
Uganda earned T20I status in 2018 and have played 19 T20Is so far, winning ten of them. They are one of the eleven sides in the African Qualifier along with the likes of Namibia and Zimbabwe. In 2017, they qualified for the ICC Women’s T20 Qualifier, 2018 in Netherlands from the region and lost fifth position play-off to Thailand. In 2019, they failed to qualify for the event. They will also be expected to work closely with the national selectors, high-performance manager, and development manager. They are also expected to make development programs and structures for the benefit of women’s cricketers.
