The five T20Is and three ODIs between India and South Africa are set to be played either in Lucknow or Kanpur, Women’s CricZone understands. This is in contrast to earlier reports suggesting Bengaluru as the venue.
“Bangalore was almost confirmed. But then things changed and the matches were awarded to UPCA,” a senior BCCI official was quoted as telling this portal.
“It is the UPCA to decide. There is a toss-up between Lucknow and Kanpur as the hosts. It will most likely get decided in the next few days.”

The games are likely to start in the first week of March and the fixtures should be out soon. South Africa are slated to arrive in Mumbai on February 25, after which they are expected to have a six-day quarantine. This portal also has reliably learnt that the tourists would most likely be without Dane van Niekerk and Chloe Tryon.
This will be the first time India will be seen in action after their appearance in the final of the T20 World Cup back in March 2020. The Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram was originally scheduled to host the series, before moving to Bengaluru.
The squad for the series has reportedly been selected and would be made public in a few days.
