India Captain, Mithali Raj said that India is aiming for a clean sweep after their 8 wickets win against New Zealand in the 2nd ODI. Mithali scored an unbeaten knock of 63 off 111 balls and was also part of a match-winning partnership with Smriti Mandhana. India also won the 1st ODI by 9 wickets and lead the series 2-0.

“I think it’s our first series win in New Zealand. Overall the team looks good. Although Initially, a lot of people asked me if the spinners can turn the match around on these wickets. The spinners have been doing well from word go and Smriti( Mandhana) has been amongst runs and so has been Jemimah (Rodrigues),” she added.

“We have to score more runs and get more partnership," said Amy Satterthwaite while reflecting on White Ferns' performance throughout the series. She also added, ”It's always about the team result and I think I got out at the time it was an important time to keep kicking on." Satterthwaite (71) was the top scorer for her team in the second ODI.

When asked about India’s star player Harmanpreet Kaur’s batting, “As and when the batters get the opportunity, we play according to the situation. Yes, any batter would like to get in there and score runs. Batting has not been tested. In a way it is a good thing because whoever is getting the opportunity is making the most of it.”

“They make it look very easy which is certainly the case but the hard part is we haven't got any runs on the board," said Amy Satterthwaite after New Zealand were only been able to put up 194 and 162 in 1st and 2nd ODI respectively.

“We have got to try to compete and play the game of cricket regardless of whether the series in line or not. We are also looking forward to World cup here in 2 years time and we have got to make sure we get it right,” said Amy Satterthwaite. “We definitely want to make it 3-0. At the same time, we will try and give some of the youngsters an opportunity,” Mithali signed off.

This third and final ODI will be played on Friday, 1 February.
