West Indies Women won the toss and elected to bat first. Hayley Matthews and Stafanie Taylor opened the innings and Sripali Weerakkody opened the bowling for Sri Lanka. It was to be an eventful start for both teams as West Indies lost their first wicket; last match’s Player of the Match Hayley Matthews was dismissed for a duck after only the only third ball of the match.

Deandra Dottin 27(19) too lost her wicket soon as she was caught off the bowling of Inoka Ranaweera. Kycia Knight played an unbeaten 23(29). Skipper Stafanie Taylor 49(41) was playing by example and missed her half-century by only by one run, as Ama Kanchana took her only wicket of the game.

Britney Cooper started her innings from where she left off in the last match and collected 23 runs in just 18 balls. Kycia Knight played a wonderful inning of 19 runs from just 7 balls. West Indies women had a total of 154 for 6 after 20 overs. Skipper Inoka Ranaweera was very expensive 4-0- 47-2; on the other hand, Chandima Gunaratne was very economical 4-0- 20-1.

155 was a target that proved to be too much for the Sri Lankans and Afy Fletcher’s five-wicket haul took it away from the visitors. Chamari Atapattu was moved down to number three and the opening pair for this match was Nipuni Hansika and Yashoda Mendis. This change didn’t hurt the West Indies. Sri Lanka lost their first wicket on 33 in the fifth over.

Chamari Atapattu seemed in good touch but was left with a huge task and was run out for 30(33). This was after Yashoda Mendis 22(20) and Dilani Manodara 11(7) were both dismissed. Kycia Knight was on fire and helped the West Indies cause with two run outs. Rebeca Vandort 14(16) tried her best but didn’t get support from anybody and Sri Lanka Were 7 wickets down for 98 after the 17th over.

Sri Lanka women were eventually restricted to 107 all-out. West Indies had won the match by 47 runs. Player of the Match in the previous game Hayley Matthews made up for the lack of runs with the bat still finished this game 4-0- 25-2.
