This match was important for both the teams to qualify for the semi-finals. Netherlands won the toss and elected to field first. Kopi John and Sibona Jimmy opened the inning for Papua New Guinea. Opener Kopi & Sibona gave the side a good start. But after Sibona getting out for 13, Kopi (40) and wicket-keeper Brenda Tau (34) added 48 runs for the 2nd wicket and Papua New Guinea were 80 for 1 in the 12 over.

But in 13th over, they lost 3 wickets and PNG team came under pressure. After that Tau & Kaia (20*) added important 41 runs for the 5th wicket and PNG finished with 129 runs for 5 in 20 overs. For Netherlands, Cher Van Slobbe, Silver Siegers and Mariska Kornet took one wicket each.

As far as Netherland's batting was concerned, 130 was big total for them. Netherlands lost their in-form opener Steere Kalis (6) early. Heather Siegers (6) soon joined her as she got out in the 4th over and Netherland were 15 for 2. After losing two quick wickets, Denise Hannema (35) & Robine Rijke (17) gave stability to their inning. After Robine got out for 17 in 9th over, Netherland was 51 for 3 and in next 3 overs, Netherland lost their way and the score became 75 for 7 in 12.4 overs.

Netherland lost their remaining wickets in the next 3 overs and got out for 85. Papua New Guinea won the match by 44 runs and qualified for the semi-final of the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifiers. For Papua New Guinea, Mairi Tom picked up 4 wickets and Ravina Oa took 2 wickets. Papua New Guinea will play against Ireland in the semi-final on 12th July at Amstelveen.
