Both Thailand and Uganda lost their opening match against Ireland and Scotland respectively. So this match was important for both the teams to keep their chances alive in the tournament. Uganda won the toss and elected to field first.

Natthakan Chantam and Naruemol Chawai opened the innings for Thailand. Chantam didn't score a single run in 12 balls and Thailand lost 3 wickets for 2 in 3 overs. Namugenyi & Aweko only gave 4 runs and took 2 wickets in 8 overs.

Thailand was under pressure but after losing 3 quick wickets, wicket-keeper batter Koncharoenkai (22) & captain Tippoch (15) added 34 runs in 9.5 overs. It was not easy for both batters to rotate the strike. After Tippoch got out in 13th over Thailand lost 5 more wickets and scored 67 runs with the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. For Uganda, Candiru & Nakisuuyi took 2 wickets each where Namugenyi, Aweko, Musamali & Namplina took one wicket each.

68 wasn't a big total but as far as Uganda's batting performance in yesterday's match, it was a big total for young & inexperienced Uganda team. To defend a small total, Thailand required quick wickets at the start of the innings. After losing Ntono in 3rd over, Kemigisha was joined by Musamali. Both struggled to score runs. Uganda were 26 for 5 in 11.5 overs and required 42 runs in 49 balls with 5 wickets in hand. Then Nakisuuyi & Candiru added 30 runs for the 6th wicket.

Nakisuuyi got out for 21 in 17th over but Candiru did the remaining job with Najjumba and won the match by 4 wickets. For Thailand, Laomi and Sutthiruang took 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Uganda & Thailand will play their next match against Ireland & Scotland respectively on 10th July.
